1 To protect its commercial flights from possible attacks using very short-range surface-to-air missiles, Israel has developed a 5 km green 5000mw laser pointer defense system mounted on each aircraft.

The advantage of such technology is twofold; it detects attacks faster and prevents pilots from performing risky maneuvers to avoid them. SkyShield can detect a missile attack within seconds using its infrared sensors. It then sends a laser to the missile's navigation system to either detonate it in the open or direct it to a location with less damage.
The technology was developed by the company Elbit Systems with the aim of preventing possible attacks on its planes taking off or landing in Israel. A commercial version of the new security shield, C-MUSIC, has already been tested and is very effective. All that remains is to convince manufacturers and airlines not only in Israel, but around the world.
